has been operating in Lagos for over 20 years. We offer our clients 2 hour trips to the caves and 4½ hour BBQ-cruises in the Bay of Lagos.

Bom Dia
Until the early nineties, Bom Dia Sailing Cruises were operating with only one traditional Portuguese sailing boat, the boat which actually gave the company its name, Bom Dia (which means: 'Good Morning').

Falcão Veloz
Due to the success of our product and the fast growing tourist industry in Lagos and the rest of the Algarve, we decided to add another traditional boat to the company. In 1994 Bom Dia Sailing Cruises became the proud owner of Falcão Veloz (which means: 'Fast Falcon').

South West Charters
All of our boats are available for day and half day charter. A typical day trip would be - leave Lagos marina at 10 am, heading west towards Sagres and Capo de São Vincente, stopping for a swim along the way. Then returning east and either anchoring for lunch or mooring at a restaurant. The afternoon can be spent sailing, or motoring along the coast, enjoying all the delights of the Algarve, with the breeze cooling you down.
We can provide a gourmet picnic lunch hamper for you to enjoy on the deck of your boat -a range of sandwiches, snacks and salads are available. Please ask for a menu and order the morning before your trip. Soft drinks are included in the price of your charter and all food is freshly prepared. Dining aboard leaves plenty of time for snoozing and swimming after a long lazy lunch. Or if you would prefer we can book a table in one of the many fantastic fish restaurants along the coast, you will be brought ashore in a dinghy. After all that sea air, tuck into your freshly grilled Dourado, Robalo or the local favourite Sardinhas ashore as you admire your boat bobbing in the water.

Slide & Splash was inaugurated in June 1986 and is situated in Lagoa. It is considered to be the biggest of its kind in the country, and one of the biggest and the best in Europe. Presently it covers an area of 6.5 hectares and aims to offer ist clients best fun altogether with highest security standards, public health and comfort, respecting the legal decree No. 65/97 of March, 31st and is addition No. 5/97 of March, 31 st, which regulate the activities of water fun parks in Portugal. Slide & Splash offers 25,000 square meters of lawn where you can have a rest, play games or enjoy sunbathing.
For water fun Slide & Splash offers various types of slides, from very easy ones up to the exciting ones like Kamikaze, torrents, the Black Hole, which is the only one of its kind in Portugal and the prominent attraction for most of our visitors.

We have got a jacuzzi, a pool for children with an area of 1,500 square meters, where kids from 5 to 10 years will find lots of toys.

Palmares - an interesting course, is best known for its breathtaking scenery. The setting is idyllic, with the majority of the holes on gentle slopes above the extensive beach stretching from the Lagos marina to the mouth of the Alvor River. Course architect Frank Pennink took full advantage of the magnificent site and, in passing, threw in a sequence of five pure links holes between the railway and the beach.
The upper holes wind through groves of almond and fig trees and the course is renowned for its annual Almond Blossom tournament week in February.

Penina - The Championship course is the late Sir Henry Cottons masterpiece and the course by which he wished to be remembered. He was the first to foresee the high potential for golf in the Algarve. Unlike the vast majority of Algarve courses, Penina is a flat, parkland type course, having been built on former rice paddies and scrubland. Most of the drainage ditches in the paddies were retained and partially modified into tricky water hazards, but the dramatic change of terrain was helped by the planting of 250,000 trees which now line most of the fairways. A few refinements have been made to Cottons original championship layout and the course has benefited considerably from the improved drainage installed. Subtle landscaping features have also been introduced to enhance the visual aspect of the course, and some of the water hazards have been extended. It is complemented by two separate 9 - hole courses.

Parque da Floresta - is located amongst rolling, hilly terrain near the south-western tip of Portugal, the 'Land's End' of Continental Europe. The layout, designed by former Spanish amateur champion Pepe Gancedo, architect of the well-known Torrequebrada course near Malaga in Spain, was virtually carved out of the hills and many of the natural contours were retained. Unlike most courses, the controversial Parque da Floresta has an infinite variety of holes, each one with individual character. Many of the fairways have been modified since it first opened, but it remains a considerable challenge.

Boavista Golf Course - With two distinctive sections the course offers a variety of holes commencing with the welcoming first hole, a meandering downhill par-4, bordered by beautiful sub-tropical landscaping leading to harmoniously designed properties. The signature hole on the outward nine is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique creating a spectacular backdrop. In 2004 Boavista Golf hosted the inaugural round of the prestigious Sir Henry Cooper / Mike Reid Charity Golf Classic. A field of 88 golfers including 22 celebrities from the UK took part in the event.
Boavista offers two distinct sections of play providing a variety of attractive and interesting holes. From the first to the last putt on the 18th green it promises a sensible game for the average player.
Umbrella pines, blossoming almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways, weaving their way between water hazards and shrewdly placed bunkers. Breathtaking views, spectacular scenery and the clear Atlantic Ocean, which is visible from most holes, all combine to make this course a delight for the golfer.
The holes near the resort are designed to intrduce rough off the fairway while the next few pass through a protected environment which could not be damaged during construction. Diving

The diving school BLUE OCEAN DIVERS LAGOS was founded in 1996 by us, John Giddings, English PADI/IAHD instructor and Elmar Vees, German PADI/CMAS diving instructor. We have been living in Lagos for 15 years and have all necessary licences and insurances in order to legally operate a diving school in Portugal. For over 10 years we have been organizing all year round, excursions to the most beautiful diving areas at the Algarve coast whereby safety has always been our utmost priority.

The premises of our diving school is located in the buildings of the Motel Ancora, directly at the 50 m long pool, which we also use for instruction.

The diving school disposes of:
- Class rooms, with computer, TV and DVD-player
- Equipment room, for guests
- Changing rooms

- Compressor room
- 50 m pool with pool bar and restaurant

The equipment of the diving school consists of:

- Thirty 7 mm 2 pieces wet suits from Aquata

- First aid box and oxygen

Horse Riding

In 1982 the Harman family bought a field in the middle of lots of other fields 7 kms from civilization on the coast at Lagos. Everyone thought they were mad! Now many people are envious of the lovely position and the farm that has developed.
In 1992 the Harmans turned Quinta do Paraiso Alto into QPA Riding Centre. The resident horses have been joined by a variety of others, by liveries and competition horses so that now in 2007 there are over 20 horses at QPA and one donkey.
 
These well run stables are approved by the Association of British Riding Schools(ABRS) and the Portuguese Equestrian federation (FEP). Safety is of the utmost importance. Those without hats will be supplied with BSA standard hats, even boots and chaps if required. The centre has comprehensive insurance for riders.
